DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Our tour guide & driver will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is still a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one of the most fascinating and authentic capitals of South-East Asia.
Your guided tour goes to Kandawagyi Park, one of central Yangon’s greenest spots. Here you will see the glittering Karaweik barge, a replica of the royal barge, and the vast lake with views of Shwedagon in the background. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa from this vantage point.
Your highlight for this evening is the dinner in Karaweik Palace, overlooking to the Royal Lake and Shwedagon tower. The dinner is served with fine Burmese food and amazing cultural show.

Day 2: Yangon – Fly to Heho – Inle Lake sightseeings
This vast picturesque lake, 900m above sea level, 22 km long and 10km across, is the second largest lake in Myanmar. Inlay Lake is famous for its scenic beauty, floating gardens of vegetation and the unique leg rowing of the Intha, the native lake dwellers. The lake is also home to a wide array of bird-life including egrets, cranes, ducks, storks and birds of prey.
Breakfast at your hotel, you are free until being picked up at your hotel, travel from Yangon to Heho for Inle Lake by a short flight. Your guide and car will pick you up at the airport and take you a scenic one-hour drive leads to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to Inle Lake. Along the way, stop at the wooden Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery which features beautiful carvings and a collection of Buddha images. We will also stop in Nyaung Shwe for a short walk around town and visit to the colorful market if it is being held that day.
Upon arrival, board on motorboat for a sightseeing tour to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, famed for its richly gilded five small Buddha images, also is believed the holiest in Inle Lake. Our next visit is Ngaphechaung monastery, known as jumping cat pagoda. As you travel further to Nam Pan village; cotton and lotus weaving factory, cigar making houses will impress you with a sense of traditional Intha life.

Day 3: Inle – Sagar – Hpe-Kom – Loikaw
Start from Nyaung Shwe town (commercial center of Heho), we will start our boat trip to Hpe-Kom, the last lake of Inle. On the way we will visit Sagar village, famous for more than 400 pagodas and stupas on its land. Have lunch on the lake and continue our boat ride to Hpe-Kom. Admire the beautiful, lush scenery on boat side of this lake. Inle´s calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation, fishing canoes and bamboo houses will free your hassle away. We will reach Hpe-kom and after 1 hour driving, arrive in Loikaw, the capical of Kayah State.
Check in guest house in Loikaw, we will visit the Kayah museum to study the traditional way of living of the Kayah people. At late evening, we will proceed to Thiri Mingalar Taung Kwe Zedi, the landmark of the Kayah State, to enjoy panoramic view of Loikaw and its surroundings at sunset time.

Day 4: Loikaw discovery
After having a light breakfast, our guide and driver will escort you to visit the village of Padaung people (long neck tribe). Here the local traditions are still intact and women, known as “giraffe women”, wearing traditional costume and a series of rings around the neck.
There are about 20 – 25 houses in the village that the woman still wear the bronze coils around their neck. Taste the local wine while visiting the house and talking to the ethnic tribe to get better knowledge about their history. Start trekking in the midst of beautiful and breathtaking wide range of mountains. A lunch box will be served on the way.
At sunset, visit Taung Kwe Zedi Pagoda, built in a panoramic position on top of a hill which offers great views of Loikaw and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Day 5: Loikaw – Hpe-kom – Kalaw
After breakfast, we will drive back to Kalaw. This 5 hour-travelling on road will pass through the villages where people grow seasonal farming products, from sesame to pea, corn, wheat… to fruit like mango, avocado, oranges… Passing each village, you will witness the different specialty; join the farmers or just taking pictures on the way. Lunch on your own account at Hpe-Kom. Continue driving back to Kalaw, located on the mild highland of Shan state, 61km from Inle, this was a popular hill station in the British days and it is still a peaceful and quiet place. At an altitude of 1320m it is also a pleasantly cool and a good place for hiking through bamboo groves and rugged mountain scenery. The main attractions of Kalaw are the town itself, with its mock Tudor colonial bungalows, its ethnic mix of people, and its setting within trekking distance of many ethnic minority villages. Kalaw exposes a green natural beauty, combining the exotic life of ethnic minorities and pine plantations.

Day 6: Kalaw – Elephant camp – Green Hill Valley (GHV)
You’ll be collected from your hotel and driven around 60 minutes to the GHV Elephant Camp. The camp offers a number of different packages aimed at all levels of interest and fitness. Some combine light treks or walks and elephant rides whilst others incorporate more strenuous overnight trekking options. You will learn the skills of the mahout (elephant driver) and be introduced to the traditions of the elephant keepers or mahouts.
This particular package is aimed at those with an interest in elephants and some light trekking too. On arrival at the camp you will receive some light refreshments and then take a short walk down to the river to join the elephants at bath time – you are able to join in the bathing duties if you would like to. Please note that the owners of the camp are not keen to promote visitors riding the elephants. After a superb lunch served at the main camp you are welcome to plant regional trees from the nursery, to help them in their forest recovery efforts. Your total trekking time through the luscious bamboo and teak forests will roughly take one to two hours. Dependent upon the elephants, the order of today’s proceedings may differ slightly on the day.

Day 7: Kalaw – Heho – Fly to Keng Tung (Golden Triangle)
Depart Mandalay for Kyaing Tong. On arrival welcome by our local English speaking tour guide and transfer to your hotel. Sightseeing in Kyaing Tong starts with Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, housing Mandalay Style Buddha image. Proceed to Shan Lacquerware. Tourists who are fond of lacquerware can purchase desirable lacquerwave of high quality. Then visit Standing Buddha image, (the place where Kyaing Tong was founded about one thousand years ago). Overnight at your hotel .

Day 8: Kyaing Tong – Pin Tauk – Kyaing Tong sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel, take the car about 45 minutes for a hiking tour into the Pin Tauk area. Lush mixed monsoon forest with a view to the plain rice fields looking like a huge, green patchwork blanket. Visit the villages of Akha and Enn tribes. Some are haptized, some tribes still animists. The Enn are an ethnic group which tourists have found particularly interesting labelling them the “Black Teeth”. The walk is not difficult and can be done slowly. They live on the higher slopes. They have distinctively different costumes and beliefs from the other tribes. It will take about 4-hours to visit the villages. Take lunch at Pin Tauk water-fall. Late afternoon, come back to your hotel for staying overnight.

Day 9: Kyaing Tong – Loimwe sightseeing
After Breakfast drive to Loimwe (appr. 2 hours drive) 33km away from Kyaing Tong. Loimwe which literally translated means “misty mountain” is at an altitude of over 1600 meters above sea – level. It commands a magnificant view of the surrounding area and enjoys a temperate climate. Once an outpost of the British there remain many Colonial buildings and also a Catholic Church. The main attraction along the way is the scenery on the ascent to Loimwe, which passes through forests, terraced rice fields. On the way to Loimwe you will have several stops to visit different villages. Wan Lun Shan villages, walk and explore the native village life; HoLup Akha village where you can see the traditional Akha tribes with their colorful dresses; Nang Cho Wa village and Panwai Lahu village on the left and right side of the road. Late afternoon you will be back to stay overnight at your hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Day 10: Kyaing Tong – Fly to Yangon
Fly from Keng Tung – Yangon (transfer from / to included). Upon arrival to Yangon airport, meet driver and car waiting there to transfer you to your hotel.
If time permits, you can explore Yangon and its highlights such as Shwedagon pagoda – the most prominent monument in Yangon which dominates the sky with golden flash, giant spires and holy relics.
Spend a little time for shopping at the Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott’s Market, – one of the biggest market in Yangon for handicrafts and other goods. (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and public holidays).
